Care & Maintenance

At Körner Interior Solutions, we use premium contemporary materials such PP Film and PET to craft cabinetry that is both durable and beautiful. These materials are designed to protect your cabinetry for the long term, while being easy to clean and maintain. Following these are instructions will help you preserve the finish and ensure your cabinetry stays in excellent condition.

Cleaning

  • Some of our contemporary cabinetry surfaces come with a protective plastic film (peel coat). Keep this film in place until installation is complete, and dust has been removed. Removing the Peel Coat: Gently lift the film from a corner using your fingernail. Avoid using sharp tools or blades, as they can scratch the surface.

  • After installation, use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe away construction dust. Do Not Use: Abrasive cleaners or dry paper towels, as they can cause scratches.

  • Lightly dampen a soft cloth with water to clean the surfaces. In most cases, water alone is enough. For a deeper clean, mix a mild solution of dish soap (e.g., one or two drops of Dawn in water) and apply it to the cloth. Ensure the cloth is thoroughly wrung out to avoid excess moisture. For dried food or beverage spills, gently wipe with a damp cloth until the spill softens and can be removed easily.

  • Always dry the surface promptly with a second clean, dry cloth to avoid moisture buildup. Never use abrasive sponges or scrapers, as they can damage the finish over time.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wipe up spills immediately with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth (e.g., a microfiber cloth). Standing water can weaken joints and seams, leaving your cabinetry vulnerable to damage.

    • Never use steel wool, abrasive pads, sponges, rags, dry paper towels, or powdered cleansers, as they can scratch or dull the finish. Use only soft, damp cloths for cleaning.

    • Dishcloths or sponges used elsewhere: These may contain grease, dirt, or traces of other cleaning products that can harm the finish.

    • Harsh chemical cleaners: Avoid cleaners with ammonia, bleach, or acids, as these can damage the surface. If a harsh chemicaal spills, wipe it up immediately and clean with a mild dish soap solution, rinsing thoroughly several times.

    • Polishes with wax or silicone: Contemporary surfaces do not require polish, and silicone based sprays can harm the finish.

    • Dyes from textiles, hair products, or food: Wipe up any dye spills immediately to avoid permanent staining, and rinse thoroughly with a mild dish soap solution if needed.

  • Dry your hands before touching cabinet surfaces to prevent moisture transfer. Avoid draping wet towels or other damp items over cabinet doors. Wipe up any moisture immediately to prevent it from pooling on the surface.

  • Exposure to extreme heat or high humidity can cause seams and joints to swell, damaging the cabinetry. Maintain consistent humidity levels in kitchens and bathrooms and use proper ventilation to prevent excess moisture from building up.

  • Do not spray water or cleaning solutions directly onto the cabinetry. Always apply them to a damp cloth first and then wipe the surface. After cleaning, promptly dry the surface with a clean, soft cloth to prevent moisture buildup.
